History & Namesake

Bryant Burke Rice

Rice Elementary opened in 1978 and is located in Conroe, Texas. The school is named for Bryant Burke Rice, a long time educator in the Conroe ISD. Rice began his teaching career in Conroe ISD in 1928. A year later he became a principal and served 38 years more as a principal of Conroe High School, JOH Benette School, and Sam Houston Elementary.
